Question by Juggler: Where can I find a school that offers an online masters degree focusing on social media and search SEO?
I’m trying to find an online university that will allow me to study social media, seo, and online marketing. I have a BA in public realations and work full time. Relocation to a university doesn’t work for me so it is important that the degree can be fully online.

Maybe this isn’t the answer you want but I would say you don’t need a master’s degree in these subjects… they are too new and a formal degree in the subject will be out of date within a year. If you want to learn online marketing there are many places to go for free training. For search and SEO I find the site SEOMoz to be the best resource, and they do have training modules and free tools. Just reading their blogs and watching their videos will teach you incredible new things every day, for free!

No major college offers a masters degree in social media and search. Your best bet would to be to get a degree in Advertising and try to take any classes they offer on the subject.

There are plenty of SEO certifications, tutorials or courses you can get online — yet, due to the instability of search engines, there have been no set of industry standards yet that will qualify anyone as a legitimate professional SEO expert.
