GetEducated.com, a consumer group that publishes online college reviews and rankings of the best online schools, has an online college scholarship fund with $ 1,000 university grants earmarked for online college financial aid applicants this fall.
Previous GetEducated online college grant winners have studied at Troy University Online and enrolled in distance masters degree programs at the University of Illinois Online, the University of Wisconsin Platteville, and Dakota State University Online. An online bachelor degree student from Duquesne University has also received a GetEducated distance education grant award.
The most recent GetEducated online student financial aid winner was a mom and teacher earning her online PhD in education at Nova Southeastern University by taking distance learning courses.
Granting distance learning scholarships is an integral part of GetEducated’s mission to stem rising college costs and make distance degrees more affordable.
“GetEducated’s online college affordability rankings reveal that an accredited online degree can cost as little as $ 4,000 or more than $ 100,000. Our online college grant program was launched to help cut the cost of online education for deserving students nationwide,” says Vicky Phillips, founder of GetEducated.com.
To be eligible for online degree financial aid, students must be US citizens enrolled in an accredited online degree or certificate program with a 3.0 GPA. Both merit and need are taken into consideration. A short essay is required.
Students in need of online college financial aid can download a free GetEducated online college grant application.
Application deadline is Oct. 15, 2010. More information about this scholarship and other online college grants is available at GetEducated.com.
